Trinity of Sound

Three faces of the same shakti

Three faces of the same force: Durga in front with arms spread wide, Kali rising fiercely behind her, Saraswati at the source tuning the veena whose body carries all seven chakras. Trinity of Sound asks what it takes for sacred music to actually reach you: a protector to hold the path, a destroyer to silence what is false, and a source patient enough to keep playing.

In the Rigveda, Saraswati is first Vak, the sacred word, sound before form. Kali's name derives from kala, time, making her the temporal pulse through which sound unfolds into rhythm. Durga is dhvani: resonance, the force that gives sacred sound its power to protect and illuminate. Together they are naad in its three dimensions. The seven chakras on the veena map the body as the instrument through which all three move.

Kali did not arrive separately; she emerged from Durga's fury when the battle demanded something deeper. The painting honours this: not three goddesses standing side by side but one shakti descending into itself, each layer giving rise to the next. The tradition is clear that these are not three separate goddesses but one shakti wearing three faces.

Naad was first. Everything else, including you, is its echo. This is a work that rewards years of looking. For the collector who understands that the right painting doesn't just fill a wall; it changes the room it enters.
